The Kissimmee area is not far from the magic of Walt Disney World Resort, not only does it have easy access to all of the major theme parks but is also has a huge range of amenities and attractions of its own. Including Kissimmee Old Town, Dinner shows and also the “real Florida” including Kissimmee Prairie Preserve state park and also Boggy Creek to show how Florida was like before the theme parks moved in!
Lake Buena Vista
Lake Buena Vista ishome of the Walt Disney World Resort, the largest recreational resort in the world, is home to four theme Parks: the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT Center, Disney-MGM Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Situated near Orlando on Interstate 4 near Kissimmee, its main shopping and entertainment area is Downtown Disney
Orlando
Famous for its theme parks, Orlando actually includes the areas of Kissimmee and Lake Buena Vista. Disney World, EPCOT, Universal Studios and Universal’s Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld, and several water parks lay claim to this central Florida city. Visitors looking for respite from the typical tourist attractions can explore museums, malls, state parks, countless restaurants, and nearby small towns.
International Drive

Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale is known as the “Venice of America,” due to its extensive canal system. A water taxi tour along the inland canals will give you easy and inexpensive access to major points throughout the city, as well as allow you a glimpse of the rich and famous along what’s known as “Millionaire’s Row.” Also the departure point for many Cruise lines with sailings out to the Caribbean.
Miami
One of Florida’s original vacation hot spots maintains its never-ending draw today. Replete with history, culture, and of course, nightlife and beaches, Miami is a must-see if you’ve never visited. This metropolitan area is influenced by Latin-American cultures, evidenced in the diversity of restaurants, arts, and festivals. Art and architecture buffs will revel in South Beach’s Art Deco district, which houses over 800 Art-Deco style buildings.
Naples
Golfers, shoppers, nature lovers, and even the rich and famous know the innate beauty of Naples. Arts and culture venues abound, as do relaxing white-sand beaches and, of course, the sparkling Gulf waters. Off the coast, romantic islands beckon. Naples is also bordered by the Everglades on the east side, giving adventurous visitors the opportunity to explore Florida’s wild side.
Fort Myers
As part of the gateway to local barrier islands, Fort Myers Beach is a Gulf coast getaway with diverse offerings. There are several public beach access points, which lead visitors to quiet, soft-sand beaches. The Town Square near the pier is a popular attraction, as are the myriad water activities.
Clearwater
Clearwater Beach is known for its white-sand broad beaches, which offer popular watersports such as jet skiing, parasailing, and water biking. Pirate cruises and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium make Clearwater a unique family destination.
St Petes St. Pete Beach was incorporated in 1957. Upon entering this Pinellas County beach resort, visitors are greeted by the Don CeSar Beach Resort. Opened in 1928, the hotel, which has housed glitterati such as F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ringo Starr and Bill Clinton, is an over-the-top mélange of Moorish and Mediterranean architecture. Its signature hue has led to its nickname, the Pink Palace.
Sarasota
Arts, culture, nature, and beaches mingle in Sarasota, creating a diverse destination that rivals any major metropolitan area. One of the most popular attractions is the John and Mable Ringling Museum and Ca’d'Zan (their 30-room mansion), situated on peaceful Sarasota Bay. Off the coast are several islands including Siesta Key, whose beaches are composed of 99% quartz and have ranked among the top beaches in the world.
Bradenton
Known for its fishing piers and sugar-sand beaches, Bradenton Beach is a small town located on Anna Maria Island. Visitors can also enjoy historic Bridge Street, a quaint strip of locally-owned shops, restaurants, and accommodations.
St. Augustine
The nation’s oldest continuously settled city, was founded in 1565, half a century before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock and 50 years after Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon first laid sight on this shore. This St. Johns County city boasts a plethora of historically significant structures, perhaps none as famous as Castillo de San Marcos, built between 1672 and 1695.
Daytona Beach
The Volusia County city of Daytona Beach is best known as a center of automobile racing and one of the few places where its hard-packed sand lets visitors drive on the beach. For those looking to get in the water, the area at the north side of Ponce Inlet is a popular spot for surfers. Kayaking, canoeing, and parasailing give non-surfers plenty of other watersports to enjoy.
Cocoa Beach
A part of the Space Coast, Cocoa Beach sits south of Cape Canaveral between the Atlantic Ocean and Banana River. Other than its surf, Cocoa Beach and nearby cities Cocoa and Cape Canaveral are best known for their association with astronauts at nearby Kennedy Space Center.
Florida Keys
Running from Miami-Dade County to Key West, the roughly 1,700 islands of the Florida Keys were formed from a coral reef and divide the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. This archipelago includes the cities of Key West and Marathon, and is reached by the Overseas Highway.
Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall made Key Largo famous when they starred in the eponymous film. Bogart (and Monroe County) history is also on display at the Holiday Inn Key Largo Resort where the original African Queen is moored and available for tours of the local waterways. This Dive Capital of the World is the first of the Florida Keys.
Laid back and natural, Anna Maria Island is a barrier island in Manatee County. The island, which sits at the southern mouth of Tampa Bay, encompasses the cities of Bradenton Beach, Anna Maria and Holmes Beach.
West Palm Beach thrives with theaters, a world-class art museum, galleries, ballet, opera, shops, street fairs and restaurants. Most of the action takes place downtown in the Clematis Street District. Beaches, a hands-on science museum for kids, a large zoo and an actual safari tour of African animals rounds out the fun.
Located in Lee County on the Gulf of Mexico, Sanibel Island is known for its seashells and sunsets. On the island is the city of Sanibel.
